Working with a technology standards client, we provided the information architecture, user research, and usability testing skills. This client was a large, international standards company. We worked on the project with a search expert, marketing staff, a project manager, and two technical support staff.
For this project, we had several objectives:
- To redesign the client’s consumer- and member-facing websites to look more modern and to display content more easily
- To have their website reflect their brand and be structured in a way that would allow them to re-use content
- To update the site’s structure to meet their specific marketing and content needs.
- To make their search more effective.
During this project, with the help of the team, we completed a number of tasks: content audit, site map, paper sketches, wireframes, and conference focus group facilitation (including wireframe testing and card sorting). During the conference, we were able to coach the team enough so they could sit with the users and walk them through the usability testing. It turned out to be really enjoyable and educational for the team!
Theresa is pleasure to know and work with. I have now worked on two large complex information projects and the experience has been nothing less than outstanding. Theresa works very collaboratively on projects, ensuring that her designs balance the needs between stakeholders, users and developers. I found her to be open to design enhancements as well as thoughtful in her evaluation of my visual design. Although Theresa works remotely, she communicated effectively to create successful project deliverables. Whether in-person or over the phone, Theresa was able to keep meetings on track to accomplish the necessary meeting outcomes. She has a strong understanding of user-centered design and strives to engage the client and bring them into the process. As well as being a very professional consultant she is a fun to work with and always upbeat and positive. I look forward to working with her in the future.
The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Theresa is 1. She’s talented and 2. She’s professional. Both exceptional qualities you want in a consultant. He eye to detail and attention make her a fantastic user-centered design expert. I’ve worked alongside Theresa delivering sites that will be SharePoint 2010 and have been impressed and enjoyed watching her keep focus on the big picture.
